From the first roll to home
How to play Easy Ludo.
Pick a colour. Make your move. Bring your coins home. Here’s how the current Easy Ludo rules work, including the house rules you can change.
-
Set your table
Choose New game. Set 2–4 active colours to Human or Computer, name the human players, and choose 1–4 coins per player. Computer difficulty can be Easy, Normal or Hard.
-
Roll to get going
With the basic settings, roll a six to release a coin from its yard. Tap the die, or drag and release it. A harder drag affects animation only. Optional rules can also allow a one to release a coin, or start coins on the track.
-
Choose a coin
Tap a highlighted legal coin to move it. The number on the die determines how many steps it travels. If there is only one meaningful move, the game can make that move automatically.
-
Capture, or stay safe
Land on an opponent’s coin to send it back to the yard. When safe cells are enabled, star and start squares protect coins from capture. Watch for barriers if that house rule is on.
-
Race all the way home
Travel around the shared track and into your coloured home lane. You need an exact roll to reach the centre. Bring all your coins home to finish; the First to finish rule can end the match as soon as a winner is known.
What gives another turn?
A roll of one gives another turn, even when there is no legal move. A six also gives another turn when Six gives another turn is enabled. Capture and reaching-home bonuses can be turned on. Enabled consecutive-roll penalties and a player finishing take priority over those bonuses.
Your house, your rules
Ludo rules vary between households and games. Easy Ludo lets you choose rules before a match, rather than claiming one universal rulebook.
| Setting | What it changes |
|---|---|
| Coin count and start | Choose 1–4 coins and begin in the yard or on the start square. |
| Release rolls | Allow a one, a six, or both to bring a coin out. |
| Safe cells | Show stars and protect safe squares from captures. |
| Extra turns | Configure six, capture and reaching-home bonuses. A one normally grants an extra turn. |
| Consecutive rolls | Set penalties for three ones or sixes, or release a coin after three sixes. |
| Capture requirements | Require a capture before entering the home lane, or make a legal capture mandatory. |
| Forced release and barriers | Prioritize releasing coins, or let two same-colour coins block opponents. |
Rules are copied into each new match. Sound, board style, difficulty and coin speed can change during a saved game. Changing default rules does not rewrite a match already in progress.
Pause now. Continue later.
Use Pause at the bottom of the game. The current match and preferences save on this device. Continue game on the home screen reopens an unfinished match. There is no cloud backup; clearing app data or uninstalling removes those saves.
